Fiscal Year 2027
In GRU’s approved FY27 budget, electric base rates remain unchanged for the third consecutive year, as the utility and GRU Authority focus on reducing debt while maintaining competitive rates.
GRU’s natural gas rates, which are already among the most affordable in the state, will remain unchanged in FY27.
GRU water customers will see a 2% increase, and GRU wastewater customers will see a 1.75% increase. While minimized to lessen the impact on customers, these increases are essential to maintaining our water and wastewater systems and accommodating future growth.
Overall, GRU has presented a lean budget for FY27. We are prioritizing improving liquidity credit metrics along with further debt reduction, keeping operations and maintenance expenses low, rightsizing fund transfers to the city and minimizing the need for future rate increases.
By keeping rates steady, GRU has become increasingly competitive across the state.
GRU’s FY27 rates take effect Oct. 1, 2026.
