Solar Feed-in-Tariff expected to spur local economic development
Customers signing onto the FIT invest in their own PV systems to generate electricity and sell energy directly to GRU under a contract for 20 years at a fixed price.
How to Apply
GRU has received enough completed applications to reach our annual cap of 4 megawatts through 2016. We are no longer accepting applications for this program.
Required documents
The following documents must be completed and returned to GRU as part of the Solar FIT application:
- Copy of document granting permission for use of physical site for solar (i.e., proof of ownership or affidavit from owner granting access)
- Sketch of proposed solar system including roof placement, size and location of panels
- Copy of insurance policy
- Proof of contractor's certification or license as required in the interconnection agreement
- Completed W9 tax form
- Completed GRU vendor form
- Upon GRU approval, a signed Solar Energy Purchase Agreement (SEPA) and interconnection agreement – view sample agreement
