Supporting the academic success of local youth
Our goal is to increase the number of low-income, minority, Gainesville-area students pursuing engineering careers at the University of Florida.
We offer Alachua County's public and charter schools curriculum and other materials to help K-12 educators teach about energy, water and the wise use of our natural resources.
Our solar electric systems at Kanapaha and Westwood Middle Schools provide a hands-on lesson about solar energy.
Williams Elementary School has been our Adopt-a-School since 1996.
Students can learn about energy and water conservation with these fun, interactive activities. Teacher resources are also available.
We participate in the E-Rate Program, which makes discounts available to eligible schools and libraries for telecommunication services, Internet access and internal connections. Through an agreement with the Alachua County School Board, GRUCom provides high-speed connectivity to 41 different elementary, middle school and special education centers in Alachua County.
