GRUgreen Building Program

The GRUgreen Building Program is a voluntary program developed to implement a certification process for energy efficient and sustainable building construction practices. The program does not replace the Florida Building Code requirements. The program's objective is to improve the efficiency of water and energy use and to encourage the use of earth friendly building material for multifamily dwellings. This program targets apartments built prior to 1993.

Incentives

This program also offers an incentive. Each apartment complex that participates in this voluntary program and completes and passes the requirements of the program and fulfills the checklist will receive a Certificate of Participation and a $250 incentive. In addition to this incentive, there are advertising benefits and other rebates that are rewarded if applicable.
