GRU's Water Rebate Program

In-ground Irrigation System Maintenance

This rebate is to encourage the proper use and maintenance of an existing in-ground irrigation system.

A well-maintained irrigation system benefits landscaping, helps sustain local water sources and lowers customers’ utility bill. Systems should be inspected on an annual basis to ensure proper operation and prevention of over-watering, breaks, leaks and backflow into the potable water lines.

Eligibility:

Must be a GRU water customer with an existing in-ground irrigation system

Residential/ Business: $50 Rebate per irrigation system, $25 rain sensor

  • Rebate form must be completed and turned into GRU along with a copy of the receipt for maintenance and GRU’s Irrigation Maintenance Checklist
  • Rebate will be issued in the form of a check or a credit on the GRU water bill
  • Rebate may be used in conjunction with other GRU rebates
  • Must use a GRU Partnering Contractor
  • Rebate form must be completed and turned in to GRU along with the Irrigation Maintenance Checklist contractor's invoice within 30 days of installation
  • Rebate can be used in conjunction with other rebate programs

Restrictions:

  1. Rebates are subject to change without notice.
  2. All rebates are subject to approval and are contingent upon fund availability.
  3. Limit one Irrigation Maintenance rebate and one rain sensor per system.
  4. Rebate not available for GRU water customers using reclaimed water or a well for irrigation

How to Apply for a Rebate

  • Click rebate form or contact us at (352) 393-1460 for a rebate form
    • Contact a GRU Partnering Contractor
    • Have your contractor provide you with an invoice and a completed copy of the irrigation checklist
    • Complete the rebate form and mail along with a copy of the invoice and the irrigation checklist to:
    • PO Box 147117, Station A114, Gainesville, FL 32614
    • Rebate will be issued in the form of a check or a credit on your GRU utility bill
    • Please allow 2 - 4 weeks for processing
