GRU's Solar Water Heating Rebate
Invest in renewable energy
A solar water heating system may be one of the best investments you can make in solar energy technology. Around 30 percent of a household's energy costs are for water heating. Solar water heaters are capable of generating the same amount of heated water at a fraction of the energy expense compared to contemporary water heating systems.
Rebate Offer
Residential/small business: $500 for equipment and installation of active or passive systems that meet GRU solar water heater requirements
Eligibility
- GRU residential or business electric customers
- Customer must have a water heater powered by electricity or natural gas supplied by GRU
- Solar system must meet GRU solar water heater requirements
- Contractor must be currently certified to install solar water heaters by the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation Construction Industry Licensing Board
- Limit 1 rebate per location
- Rebates are subject to change without notice and are subject to approval
How to Apply
- Arrange for an eligible contractor to provide an estimate and then install equipment that meets GRU solar water heater requirements
- Submit the following to GRU within 90 days of installation:
- Rebate form
- Invoice
- A valid Solar Pathfinder report indicating a minimum 80-percent solar window
- GRU will inspect system to ensure it meets requirements
- GRU will issue credit to the customer's bill, unless otherwise noted
