Low Interest Energy Efficiency Loan

Get a low-interest loan to make energy-saving improvements in your home

GRU's Low Interest Energy Efficiency Loan empowers customers to install energy-saving technologies that might otherwise be outside a customer’s budget range. The energy-efficient products and equipment purchased with the loan can help lower your bill and improve the comfort of your home.

Loan Offer

Residential: 5-year, 3% fixed APR loan of up to $10,000 for pre-approved energy saving measures

Eligibility

• GRU residential electric customers
• Available for owner-occupied residential homes, including single-family homes, mobile homes, duplexes, triplexes, quadraplexes and condominiums
• 1^st Credit Union of Gainesville is responsible for loan approval and administration
• Interest rates are subject to change on new loans without prior written notice based on market conditions
• Loan must be used for pre-approved energy saving measures
• Improvements must be installed according to manufacturer’s recommendations
• The following work must be performed by GRU Partnering Contractors:
• Central A/C system installation (view contractor list)
• Duct leak repairs (view contractor list)
• Pool pump installation (view contractor list)
• Conversions to natural gas appliances (view contractor list)
• On-site verification of installation may be required
• Installation of energy improvements or purchase must be complete prior to the release of final payment
• Cannot be used with other GRU rebates

How to Apply

• Determine which pre-approved energy saving measures are right for your home
• Have GRU partnering contractor or retail partner fill out Estimate Form(s)
• Best Buy – 3750 SW Archer Road
• Lowe's – Gainesville locations
• Martin Appliance – 7229 NW 4th Blvd.
• If the estimate includes heating and A/C, duct leak repair improvements, pool pump replacement or natural gas appliance conversion, then a GRU Partnering Contractor must sign the estimate form
• Submit the following to 1^st Credit Union:
• Loan application (online application or print application)
• Estimate Form(s)
• Upon approval, the 1^st Credit Union will provide an approved voucher for payment
• Customer provides approved voucher and estimate form to retail partner or partnering contractor
• Complete purchases and improvements
• Retailer or contractor should provide 1^st Credit Union with the Estimate Form signed by the customer and a copy of the receipt for release of payment
