GRU's Solar Water Heating Rebate Program

A Solar water heating system may be one of the best investments you can make in solar energy technology. Around 30% of a household's energy costs are for water heating. Solar water heaters are capable of generating the same amount of heated water at a fraction of the energy expense compared to contemporary water heating systems.

Active Solar Water Heater Rebates

Active systems use a pump to circulate water between a storage tank and a collector array. The water heater attached to the solar collector system must be powered by electricity or natural gas supplied by GRU. Active Solar Systems must be closed-loop type.

Passive Solar Water Heater Rebates

Passive systems employ naturally induced currents or pressure from the attached water system to move water through the collector plate. Passive systems must be double-glazed integrated collector storage type.

Restrictions:

1. Rebates are subject to change without notice
2. All rebates are subject to approval and are contingent upon fund availability
3. Limit one rebate per location
