Budget Pay

Simplify Your Life With Budget Pay...

GRU is offering customers a more convenient way to pay their bills. Budget Pay means your utility bill payment is the same each month. Here's how it works:

  • GRU averages the monthly bills of your residence for the past 12 months and establishes a fixed payment that you'll pay every month
  • Budget Pay levels your bill's seasonal highs and lows
  • Payments are deducted automatically from your checking or savings account through GRU's AutoPay by Bank Draft program or you may pay through any other GRU payment method
  • You will continue to receive a monthly statement showing the payment amount due
  • No late fees or service cut-off can occur while you are on this plan if paid by the due date
  • Some months you may pay less than you are charged and other months you may pay more, but over the long run your total payments will approximate your total charges

Preferred Due Date

Choose the date your utility bill becomes due each month, such as the first or fifteenth. To request that a bill’s due date be changed to a more convenient date, call Customer Service at 334-3434 before receiving that month’s bill.

Regardless of the new bill due date, your meter will still be read on the same regular schedule. Since the bill will not include any more or fewer days than it did originally, you will not see an increase or decrease in their bill as a result of their request.


Summary Bill

This bill is designed for customers who want a simplified, easy to read bill with single line-item charges for each utility service and state and local charges.

Residential Customers: Automatically receive the Summary bill format. To switch to Itemized bill format Call (352) 334-3434 and tell a customer service representative to change your billy type.

Itemized Bill

This bill is suited for customers who want a much more detailed bill with multiple line-item charges that include unit rates and a breakdown of state and local charges for each utility service.

Non-Residential Customers: Automatically receive the Itemized bill format. To switch to Summary bill format call (352) 334-3434 and tell a customer service representative to change your bill type.
