Data Transport and Networking

GRUCom logo

A Data Superhighway.

This is serious bandwidth. Enough to host every point in Gainesville and then some. Which makes for serious benefits. No slowdowns from traffic, regardless of volume. Direct connections, at top speed, to networks around Florida-and around the world. And it is consistently online thanks to an infrastructure of fully protected fiber optic rings and redundant transport equipment. If anything should happen, you are taken care of with 24/7 remote monitoring and technical support.

Flexible, scalable Metro Ethernet platforms give you rapid provisioning and implementation. Data transport and networking with as much bandwidth as you need. From 1 Mbps to 1000 Mbps (Gigabit Ethernet). Metro Ethernet provides incremental bandwidth options, and a standard interface without the need for an additional converter or modem.

In short, GRUCom has the backbone to keep your system running, your transport instant and your data safe. The demands of your business call for nothing less.

GRUCom provides data transport and networking services via Time Division Multiplexing (TDM) and Metro Ethernet connection platforms. These can be delivered on GRUCom fiber optic cable or copper. GRUCom transport services are used to transport the public safety radio networks. Benefits of GRUCom transport services include:

    • Fully protected fiber optic ring architecture
    • OC48 backbone infrastructure
    • Redundant power and transport equipment
    • Continuous monitoring (24/7) at the GRUCom Network Operations Center (NOC)
    • 24-hour GRUCom technician availability
  • DS0 Transport - Transmission rate of 64 Kbps. Transport signal is electrical
  • DS1 Transport - Transmission rate of 1.544 Mbps. A DS1 consists of 24 DS0s. Transport signal is electrical
  • DS3 Transport - Transmission rate of 44.736 Mbps. A DS3 consists of 28 DS1s. Transport signal is electrical
  • OC3 Transport - Transmission rate of 155.52 Mbps. Three STS-1s are combined to form a single STS-3 for transmission over a single OC3 fiber link. Transport signal is optical
  • OC12 Transport - Transmission rate of 622.08 Mbps. Transport signal is optical
  • OC48 Transport - Transmission rate of 2.4 Gbps. Transport signal is optical
  • 10 Mbps Metro Ethernet Platform - OEEE 802.3 standard. Carrier Sense Multiple Access Collision Detect (CSMA/CD) protocol used for transport. Transmission rates are available in 1 Mbps increments from 1 Mbps to 10 Mbps
  • 100 Mbps Metro Ethernet Platform - IEEE 802.3 standard. Carrier Sense Multiple Access Collision Detect (CSMA/CD) protocol used for transport. Transmission rates are available in 5 Mbps increments from 15 Mbps to 100 Mbps
  • 1 Gbps Metro Ethernet Platform - IEEE 802.0 standard. Carrier Sense Multiple Access Collision Detect (CSMA/CD) protocol used for transport. Transmission rates are available in 50 Mbps increments from 150 Mbps to 1 Gbps (1000 Mbps)
  • Muxed Transport - Conversion of 28 DS1s into a single DS3 signal. Conversion of 12 DS3s into a single OC12 signal. Conversion of 48 DS3s into a single OC48 signal
