Customized Business Rebate
Customized rebates up to $40,000
We understand that your facility is unique and your energy management techniques might not fit a standard rebate program. Our customized rebate lets you decide where to best save energy in your business:
Rebate Offer
- Receive up to $40,000 or 50% of project implementation cost, whichever is less
- Rebate is based on the reduction in energy use directly attributed to the project at $400/kW or $0.08/kWh, whichever is greater
- Projects that have a simple payback of 1.5 years or less will receive half of calculated rebate
Eligibility
- GRU customers with commercial electric service and satisfactory payment history
- Limit $40,000 per location (electric account)
- Rebate applies only to new projects. Consideration will not be given to retrofit measures installed prior to proposal approval
- Rebates are subject to change without notice and are subject to approval
How to apply
- Contact your GRU Business Services Representative, who will work closely with your engineers to create an incentive package to help you implement important upgrades

- Project scope of work
- Estimated project cost
- An engineering analysis detailing electric demand and energy savings calculations for all proposed retrofit measures
- Schedules of operation for all proposed retrofit measures in order to compare energy reductions coincident to GRU’s seasonal peak periods.
- GRU may require that the submitted engineering analysis be certified by a professional engineer (PE.) GRU will inform applicants in writing within 30 days if a PE seal is required.
- Upon GRU review and approval of submitted proposals, applicants will be asked to sign an agreement with GRU.
