FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Where do the wood chips come from?

The chips are produced as a by-product of GRU's routine maintenance tree trimming program.

What types of materials make up a load of chips?

The chips are a combination of wood, leaves, and pine needles. The exact ratio of wood to leaves varies with the season and the species of trees being trimmed.

When will I receive the wood chips?

Wood chip request forms are forwarded to the crews by area, nearest to where we are performing maintenance activities. Thus delivery time varies according to number of requests and distance from the work site. If we are not able to deliver the chips within three months, the customer will be contacted and offered the option of continuing to wait or canceling the request.
