EXPRESS Same Day Service
If the home or apartment you are moving into already has a meter,
you can have your services start the same day that you request it. This can only be scheduled by phone. Express Same Day Service cannot be scheduled via the Web site.

Will I Have to Pay a Deposit?
- Residential deposit requirements are based on the services provided at your new residence.
- A letter of credit from your previous utility provider, showing an excellent payment record for the previous 24 months, can also be accepted in lieu of a deposit.
- If a deposit is required, it will be billed in three monthly installments.
Will I Get My Deposit Back?
- Deposits are applied to an account after two years of
satisfactory payments. Interest is paid annually on deposits remaining
with GRU for more than six months
- Or, if you stop your service with GRU before your deposit
is refunded to you, your deposit will be applied to your final bill and
any difference will be refunded to you
